PMEAT Admission Assistance 2025: The Interim Government has announced a financial assistance program to support the admission of meritorious students from financially insolvent families. The Prime Minister’s Education Assistance Trust (PMEAT) will provide this stipend to students enrolled in Bachelor’s (Pass & Honors) or equivalent levels for the 2024-25 academic session.
PMEAT Admission Assistance 2025
According to a notification issued on Wednesday, the initiative aims to ensure that no qualified student drops out due to financial constraints. The assistance covers students in public and private universities, colleges, and madrasas. The online application process will commence on December 7, 2025, and continue until December 30, 2025.
Eligibility and Target Audience
The financial aid is specifically targeted at 1st-year students admitted in the 2024-25 session. To qualify, the student’s family annual income must be below BDT 2,00,000 (Two Lakh). A certificate proving this income, issued by the Head of the Institution, Union Chairman, or Ward Councilor, must be uploaded.
However, children of government employees (Grades 13–20) are exempt from the income certificate requirement. Instead, they must upload a salary grade certificate issued by their office head.
Priority will be given to specific vulnerable groups. These include students with disabilities, orphans, children from landless or river-erosion-affected families, and children of insolvent Freedom Fighters. Proof of these conditions must be submitted with the application.
Application Procedure
The entire application process is digital. Interested candidates must apply through the PMEAT E-Service Portal or the link provided on the Secondary and Higher Education Division website (shed.gov.bd).
Applicants need to download a prescribed recommendation form from the website. This form must be filled out, signed by the Head of the Department or Institution, and then uploaded during the online application.
Mandatory Banking and Documents
For the disbursement of funds, the government utilizes the G2P (Government to Person) system. Applicants must provide a bank account or Mobile Financial Service (MFS) number registered strictly in their own name or their parents’ names.
Supporting documents for the account (such as a cheque leaf, bank statement, or MFS KYC update) must be uploaded. Additionally, an attested copy of the mark sheet from the last passed examination (HSC/Equivalent) is mandatory.
This initiative by the Prime Minister’s Education Assistance Trust is a vital safety net for students transitioning into higher education during the 2025-26 fiscal year. With the deadline set for December 30, students are urged to verify their bank accounts and collect necessary signatures from their department heads immediately. Since the process is entirely online, sending hard copies is unnecessary, but accuracy in the digital form is paramount to avoid rejection.
